Several short courses of the institute.

Advanced PhD students, post-docs and junior scientists are asked to review for scientific journals when they published themselves. As reviewers they are key decision makers about what will be published, and thus should fully understand the process of journal editing, and how decisions are being taken. This short course provides training in journal editing and peer-reviewing! The course covers the background of peer review, tasks and responsibilities of reviewers and editors and the process from prescreen to final decision. The course will enable participants to be good reviewers and will prepare for appointments as associate journal editors. A mix of teaching methods, i.e. interactive lectures, supervised group work, practical exercises and self-study, will enable lively and comprehensive learning.
